3 somber points as we shift focus

We have bagged yet another win in a somber walkover in a KFSL League game, making it our eighth consecutive win. The three points come after the bottom-of-the-table-placed Phiri Masters failed to pitch on time at Bonamelo Primary School grounds in Thulani.

A 10-game unbeaten run and eight consecutive wins continue.

Match – Report

Today’s results will surely bring us closer to the Top 3 that we are aiming for, but we will have to wait for the updated log to see how we fared.

The Technical Team changed the team a bit to give some players a run and rest some. Jerry “Ta-Jerry” Buthelezi’s last starting 11 was in a 0-0 draw against Tshiawelo Masters FC on April 27. Mandla “Poposhie” Mlangeni was also among the starters, with his last starting 11 in the win against Sebokeng on May 28.

Up front, we had Maxwell “Mexican-Chillie” Mokgatle and Simangaliso “Dihno” Magubane, who we were both hoping to add to the goal tallies of 4 and 6, respectively. Simanga managed to get on the scoring chart as the walkover was played, with Njection scoring the other goal, which brought his goal total for the season to 3.

We were hoping for a good run that would boost our morale as we headed to the Ginoor Community Games. We are facing the NDT Legends, whom we last tasted defeat playing against. Eleven matches ago at Protea South, NDT Legends gave us a 4-1 defeat to take home.

I guess that now we would have to look back on the past results to try to uplift ourselves for this much-anticipated, mouthwatering fixture. No player needs to be reminded of the importance of this fixture.

We’ll see you all in Tshiawelo in just under 5 days.
