Obaba Babo battled to a 1-1 draw against Thulamela Masters on Sunday.
In front of a handful crowd for the Thulamela Masters’ match, the Obaba looked closest to taking the win home, especially after Bongane “Njection” Maduna missed a penalty in the middle of the second half. We had to do a forced substitution goalkeepers as Akani Khumalo got injured, and Mafika “Rooi” Phungwayo had to take matters into his own hands.
Coach Dumisani “Madumane” Makhubu’s intentions were very clear that he wasn’t looking for a draw but to take a win home after some dreadful recent results, as he introduced Mduduzi “DeMdoo” Ndlela for the veteran Simangaliso “Sgubudu” Shabalala.
It’s been a rough couple of weeks, and a few days leading to this match. So we would take a draw away from home at any given moment.
