February was a month of highs, lows, and a whole lot of Bandile for Fathers Football Club (Fathers). The man of the hour (or rather, the month) proved he’s not just a player but a one-man goal factory, while the rest of the team juggled substitutions, yellow cards, and the occasional defensive meltdown.
The month kicked off with the Bobaba Top 8 on 1 February, where Fathers faced Lookyland in a rematch. Bandile, fresh off the bench in the 50th minute, decided he’d had enough of the 0-0 snoozefest and netted the winner at 58 minutes, courtesy of a slick assist from Max. Simanga Dihno Magubane, with a name as impressive as his performance, snagged the Man of the Match title with a 17.65% rating. Not bad for a day’s work.
The next day, Fathers took on New Canada Masters in the Obaba Top 8. Bandile struck again, this time in the 45th minute, with Jerry playing the role of assist king. Jerry, however, decided to spice things up with a yellow card at 65 minutes, because who doesn’t love a bit of drama?
Later that same day, Fathers faced Jabavu Masters in the final game of the Bobaba Masters Top 8 Tournament. Bandile, clearly on a mission, scored again at 44 minutes, but Jabavu Masters had other plans, netting three goals in the second half to crush Fathers’s dreams. Papa’s yellow card at 62 minutes was the cherry on top of a rather bitter cake.
Fast forward to 9 February, and Fathers found themselves in a goal-fest against Molapo Masters in the KFSL. The game ended 4-4, with Bandile bagging a brace (because of course he did), JD and Bheki chipping in, and Gaucho proving he’s not just a name but an assist machine. The subs were flying left, right, and center.
In a friendly against Molapo, Fathers emerged victorious with a 4-2 win. Bandile (again), Bheki, Simanga, and Mdu all got on the scoresheet, proving that Fathers’s attack is as sharp as ever. Crouch even managed an assist, because why not?
But the month ended on a sour note with a 2-0 loss to Molestane Masters on 16 February. Gaucho’s yellow card at 15 minutes set the tone, and despite a flurry of subs, Fathers couldn’t find the back of the net.
In summary, February was a month of Bandile brilliance, chaotic substitutions, and the occasional defensive blunder. Fathers may not have won every game, but they sure kept things entertaining. Here’s to more goals, more drama, and hopefully fewer yellow cards in March.
