Fathers preparing for Zola United and launching a new kit!

Fathers training as the fight for the Top 8 is still on. Tomorrow we face the position 7 team, which won’t be an easy feat as always for Zola United Legends at Bonamelo Grounds, at 10:30.

Our last encounter with them ended in a deadlock at 1-1; we derailed their title hopes,

and they would come in looking for revenge. In the match before that one, they gave us a 4-1 drubbing. But this time around, the match promises fireworks, as the team has been firing on all cylinders. Having beaten Sebokeng Masters 5-3, this result meant that we moved 1 place up, from 10th to 11th. But our Technical Team would want to close the back if they wanted to have a chance of coming back with three points. Now, Zola United’s recent form is something to write home about; in the last possible 15 points, they have collected 10 points compared to the 15 points we gathered, but in football, the adverb “therefore” has no room. With all these recent glowing stats, complacency and arrogance are never the names of the game.

Tomorrow, the team will also launch the new kit. It sure will be the greatest day. Everyone can’t wait to don the new kit. Our fans can also stand a chance to wear it. All they need to do is play the “Predict & Win a Replica Top” game to stand a better chance or purchase it at our shop.

This is the first official match post-Dumisani “MaDumane” Makhubu era. The coach submitted his resignation on May 29, 2023, after seven successful matches.

Dumisani worked as head coach for Fathers Football Club from March 28, 2023, to May 21, 2023. While he was head coach, the team lost one game, drew one, and won five straight games.

His term of office ended immediately. He requested to leave the team to concentrate on his personal journey. We appreciate and are very grateful for the service that Dumisani has rendered in a short period of time to Obaba and wish him well in his new endeavours. When all is in order, he will be welcomed back anytime by the FFC family.

We hope that the team will rise above this, as it has previously. We do have quality players, and the spirit is at its greatest at the moment, not taking lightly that such would derail even the best of the best. In Obaba Babo we trust; we have been through worse and managed.

We are currently on a seven-match unbeaten streak with six straight victories. We have a right to believe that tomorrow will make it 7. Let’s meet at Thulani, Bonamelo, at 10:30!
