Obaba is diligently preparing for an upcoming weekend filled with fixtures, September 23, 2023, Thulani Block 11 grounds.
We are back for the second round of “Weekend Enkulu”, determined to leave behind the disappointment of our earlier failure. Our team has put in the hard work to ensure that we do not repeat the mistakes of the past.
The first time we participated in “it” was in June, we participated in the Top 8 event hosted by Ginoor Community Games where we faced the NDT Legends.
Unfortunately, we were eliminated in the first round, marking the second time that the same team knocked us out at this stage. We were previously defeated by them 4-1 at Protea’s Top 8.
Regrettably, our ambitious endeavor to partake in both the league match and the tournament final on the same day was not triumphant. To our dismay, we experienced another defeat in the league match on what was anticipated to be a momentous “Weekend Enkulu/Big Sunday”, rendering the weekend disheartening and unfulfilling.
Although we had an outstanding record of 10 matches without defeat, which included 6 consecutive wins and a total of 9 triumphs leading up to the event, our performance on the actual day was not up to par with what we had hoped for.
Despite all the hard work and preparations, we fell short of our expectations and could not replicate the level of success we had achieved in the past. We are geared up for an exhilarating weekend, as we set out on a journey to Protea Glen Extension 4 for the highly anticipated Top 4 tournament.
Following that, we will be back home to battle it out with the talented Lufhereng Masters team on Monday, right here in our own Extension 4 grounds. Get ready for a few days filled with intense competition and thrilling moments.
It gives me great pleasure to share with you the exciting news about the upcoming Protea tournament. Three highly competitive teams, Diepkloof All-Stars, Western Veterans, and CWJ, will be participating and showcasing their skills. Adding to the thrill and anticipation, the tournament draw will take place on the day of the event.
Fans and participants can expect an enthralling display of sportsmanship and talent as these teams battle it out for victory.
We have overcome obstacles and accomplished a remarkable feat of not losing in our last 10 games. In the last six matches, we have secured two consecutive victories and drawn four times. Despite the last two games ending in draws, we remain confident in our abilities and eagerly anticipate continuing our success on the field.
Achieving success requires staying dedicated and persistent without giving up. We owe our prosperity to our faithful followers and we kindly ask them to keep supporting us with their unwavering loyalty.
