It’s payback time!

Preparations are in full swing for the highly anticipated Zondi Masters and the upcoming reprisal matches, September 08, 2023, in Thulani Block 11.

Our past track record against our upcoming opponents is abysmal – not a single win to our name. However, we refuse to let that define us and are determined to do whatever it takes to turn the tide in our favor. With the next four weeks dedicated to intense training, we will stop at nothing to improve our chances of success. Starting with Zondi Masters tomorrow, we will leave it all on the field in pursuit of our goals.

We’ve encountered these teams in the past, during a difficult period where we suffered a series of losses. However, we overcame those challenges and our team has now gone eight consecutive matches without a loss. It has been some time since our last loss to Abangani, which took place in July.

We may find refuge and comfort in the notion that just one team is above us, while the others are below us.

Moletsane Veterans, with whom we have yet to play our first-round match, which was delayed owing to the untimely death of our member Nhlanhla Manga, are comfortably atop the table with 65 points and a 16-point lead. We are playing them last and have yet to record a victory over them.

Tomorrow’s match against the Zondi Masters is a chance for us to show our strength and secure a victory against our 49-point rivals. While we have not yet achieved a league victory against them, we did triumph over them 3-1 in the Top 16 semifinals at Mdeni. We are confident in our abilities and eager to take the field.

Tinyiko is currently in 13th place, but they are trailing us by only 10 points. Our third game will be against them. However, it is disappointing that we have only managed to win one out of the three games we have played against them. We need to step up our game and put in our best effort to secure a win.

We have another chance to face Diepkloof Giants, a team we have played against three times before and lost to twice. However, we are ready to take them on with confidence and determination. Our upcoming match against Zondi Masters will serve as a great opportunity for us to prepare and strategize for the game against Diepkloof Giants that will take place the following week.

Obaba are gearing up for four pivotal matches, aiming to regain their supremacy at the summit and avenge themselves against their adversaries who have inflicted agony upon them before. Additionally, they are looking to reward their supporters with the ultimate bragging rights over these rivals.
