Lehlohonolo “Bautista” Molete wins big off the field

Bodybuilders from all over showed some serious muscle in Soweto.
They were there to reap the rewards of long strenuous hours in the gym during an International Bodybuilding Federation (IBBF) Soweto Development Show event. It all happened this past long weekend at the Soweto Theatre on Saturday, 29 April 2023.

Lehlohonolo “Bautista” Molete who got his nickname from the famous wrestler, David Michael Bautista, bagged himself a Gold medal for participating in the event.

Lehlohonolo, who plays as a striker for Fathers Football Club, almost didn’t make the cut, as he struggled to get the funds for the event. But eventually managed to get his hands on those funds just in time for the cutoff, and do what he does best.

The event saw 60 participants taking to the stage on the day. To qualify, you had to pay a fee, and still go through a qualifying stage. So your cash only, couldn’t guarantee you a spot on the podium. There were 3 categories Juniorweight, Lightweight and Heavyweight. He entered for Lightweight but ended up taking the Gold for the Heavyweight as the competition progressed.

When asked about preparations, Lehloholo responded by saying “The challenges are diet, discipline and consistency in one’s programme.” He continued to say “I would like to thank, Fathers Football Club, for sharing the poster, as that’s how I came to know about this competition.”

When asked where to next, he said chuckling “I’ll just stick around with Fathers FC and hope that someone would post another competition’s poster.”

Only time will tell for this legend in the making.
