On Wednesday, 12 November 2025, our very own Public Relations Officer, Thomas Hoyo‑Hoyo Mafuyeka, took center stage on The Vooka Breakfast Show.
His appearance was more than just an interview; it was a powerful reflection of Fathers FC’s journey, vision, and impact in the community.
Thomas spoke passionately about the formation of the team, the direction we are heading, and what supporters can expect in both the near and distant future. He highlighted the importance of partnerships with organizations such as Put a Smile and Soweto Young Men United (Thezi Session), emphasizing how collaboration strengthens our mission.
Beyond football, Thomas reminded listeners that Fathers FC is a space where men facing emotional challenges can find healing and brotherhood. The team has become a platform for resilience, accountability, and transformation. Redefining strength: it begins with openness.
MATCH POSTPONEMENT
This past Sunday, 16 November 2025, our scheduled clash against Diepkloof All Stars was unfortunately postponed due to heavy rain in Johannesburg. Forecasts showed a high risk of rainfall (70%) with temperatures ranging between 23–29 °C, making play impossible. The match has now been rescheduled for Sunday, 23 November 2025.
Man of the Week
As a result of games being postponed by the SMSL, we could not name a Man of the Match. Instead, we proudly recognized Thomas Hoyo‑Hoyo Mafuyeka as our Man of the Week, honoring his impactful representation of Fathers FC on The Vooka Breakfast Show and his dedication to sharing our vision and achievements.
Community Achievements
Thomas also reminded audiences of Fathers FC’s ongoing community upliftment projects, which include:
- Sanitary drives to support young women in our neighborhood
- Helping rebuild burnt houses for local families.
- Providing school uniforms to learners in need.
These initiatives reflect our commitment to being more than just a football club; we are a movement for change, healing, and empowerment.

Thomas’s presence on The Vooka Breakfast Show was a proud milestone for Fathers FC. He didn’t just speak about football; he spoke about identity, resilience, and purpose.
