The team takes instructions from coach Dumisani Majarha Makhubu before the KFSL match against Meadowlands Masters at Bonamelo ground on April 30, 2023 in Thulani.
Fathers got back to winning ways, trying to get themselves out of the 15th position that they find themselves in, on Sunday afternoon.
Obaba had gone into the game looking to turn things around after Thursday’s defeat to Tshiawelo Masters, on Thursday (Freedom Day).
The win won’t see them move to the 15th position that they are currently rooted in, as the goal difference is a staggering -12 (taking into consideration today’s goals).
Even though they are still rooted in 15 positions, it would come as a consolation that they have 2 games in hand of the teams above them.
Obaba began at a slow pace, as the match ended 0-0 in the first half, with the visitors drawing first blood in the middle of the second half.
It was clear to see after the visitors scored at a packed Bonamelo grounds that Fathers were hungry for a result as they took the game to their visitors.
The introduction of 5 subs meant that coach MaDumane wanted all 3 points to remain at Thulani, for the first time in a long time. The team created a few chances and looked more composed in their attack, hence the crack of Meadowlands Masters.
Obaba saw Oscar Oskido Mohohlo having his first start for the team after he was last seen in the team’s colors over 5 years ago. Bongikosi Bobs Dingana was also a new face among the substitutions. The 2 players are part of the few players that have joined the team in recent times as we were eluded by wins.
Could we see the team frequenting the use of the winning action verb?
