OBABA dominated Bolo Football Club, securing a 3-0 victory in a friendly match held on September 3, 2023, at the Dobsonville Caltex Grounds.
Sgubudu confidently scored Obaba’s opening goal in the early minutes, showcasing his impressive tally of nine goals in just 17 appearances. It’s worth noting that his last goal was in a 2-1 defeat against the formidable Protea Glen Extension 4 Masters.
Sibusiso’s impressive record continues to inspire as he scored two goals, bringing his total to eight goals in 14 games. He’s on the brink of becoming the first player this season to score ten goals, and with a remarkable goal-to-game ratio of 0.58, he’s showing us that anything is possible with hard work and dedication. Sgubudu and Smanga are also putting in a great effort, with ratios of 0.52 and 0.33 respectively, but Sibusiso’s performance is truly one to be admired.
Dihno was in the starting lineup for the first time since a 2-0 victory over Phiri Masters on June 11th, when he scored the team’s second goal.
Rooi, has been absent from the team for some time now. The last time he was seen in action was during a difficult game, which ended in a 5-1 loss against Abangani Football Club. But today he had a fantastic day. He demonstrated his exceptional skills by pulling off a remarkable save in the first half. While we’re on the subject of goalkeepers, the opponent’s goalie left following a disagreement with his teammates.
Chicken and Papa were both named to the starting lineup after appearing in a tie against Meadowlands Academy Masters. They played a superb match, perfectly following the Technical Team’s directions.
Even though we were ahead in the second half, the Technical Team had full confidence in their aggressive substitutions. Poposhie, Ngwana, and Sibugazi were replaced with De-Mdoo, Bheki, and JD, respectively.
Our squad has delivered some truly spectacular football displays, and the growing number of supporters proves it. We’ve been invited to participate in this year’s Champ of Champs tournament, and we’re eager to take on our opponents. The draw on September 2nd, 2023, determined that we’ll be facing Westbury Masters on the 30th, but we’re not worried. This is just another opportunity for us to showcase our skills and come out on top.
Despite a challenging year so far, we’re confident in our abilities and look forward to a successful tournament.
Let’s gather in Zondi next week and show the Zondi Masters what we can do. With hard work and dedication, we can achieve greatness and come out victorious!
