In one of the best performances, Obaba wins yet another match against a top 5 team, reshuffling the top tier once again,
a few minutes before full-time in a pulsating affair against Western Veterans on Sunday.
We saw the return of Mandla “Smindlo” Matomane from the injury, he last donned the jersey in a win against Meadowlands Masters, on 30 April 2023. Akani Khumalo also came on posts as his last seen was on 23 April 2023 in a draw against Thulamela Masters, it was his turn to taste victory, as his previous matches before today’s one had no win. Mpho “Jomo” Mkwanazi came as a substitute, his 3rd game this year.
It was a day when everything went well for Fathers Football Club. Having been 1-0 up in the first half from an own goal and got an own goal in the second half. It is a gift well received from Obaba.
Fathers will bid for a record-extending fifth League win when they face Sebokeng Masters in Evaton North on May 28. Obaba is on song currently as this is the 5th consecutive win when counting the friendly match against Mahenyahenya.
