Paul Piriza Shelile helps Obaba to steamroll Mahenyahenya Football Club, with 2 goals in the first 5 minutes of the match at Bonamelo ground on May 06, 2023, in Thulani.
Obaba Babo recorded their first back-to-back win in a long time, with a 6-1 thumping of Mahenyahenya Football Club.
This was a match that saw some old faces donning the team’s jersey once again. Coach Dumisani Majarha Makhubu gave fringe players some run. One would not be at fault to think that he had tomorrow’s league match against aka77 at the back of his thoughts as he rested his regulars. He would hope to ride on this good form that his side is experiencing so far.
The team saw Sizwe Barnes Buthelezi starting on the poles, with Nkosingiphile Mphile Mdlanyoka, Molatudi Fish Malahlela, Nathi Nathi-Rocks Ngubeni & Simiso Sonic Mbele guarding the back. Having Simiso Sonic Mbele as a regular starter at the back. They did an astounding job as they let in a single goal.
Moving to the middle, we saw Sibusiso The Principal Mtshali slotting in perfectly, as he produce a phenomenal performance, and he topped off with 2 assists on the day. Injury has kept him out of the game for some time, but it’s true what they say about class being permanent, hence he’s referred to as “The Principal”. Alongside him was Simanga Dihno Magubane, looking to continue from the great form he had against Meadowlands Master, which saw him banging in a goal. The midfield was completed with Paul Piriza Shelile our brace hero and Bhekinkosi Thandeka. Upfront nothing was changed as we had Bonginkosi JD Hlophe and Sibusiso Ngema helping the team to fire at all cylinders.
Mfanafuthi Snyere Mabuza came on as a substitute for Nathi Nathi-Rocks Ngubeni. He found himself in front of goals the moment he came in but squandered the chance away. Sibusiso The Principal Mtshali, Paul Piriza Shelile, & Molatudi Fish Malahlela gave way to Mandla Poposhie Mlangeni, Mduduzi DeMdoo Ndlela and Jerry Ta-Jerry Buthelezi respectively.
This win means that it’s 2 wins, 2 draws in as many matches. Obaba would be looking to move out of the 15th position and add to their wins tomorrow when they face off against AKA 77 at BRT Depot grounds at 11:00.
