Preparation ahead of history-making event.

TRAINING ahead of the Tie AGAINST KLIPSPRUIT DYNAMICS, Thulani Block 11, ON JULY 22, 2023

As the chilly weather continued, so did Obaba’s training mandate. The guys want to get the team back to the top 6. With everything else, preparation is the key.

Spirits are still high following last week’s win against Protea Glen Extensions 4 Masters. We caught a glimpse of Siphiwe Shoes Nkosi doing his thing at the training, hoping to increase his tally after handing us a win only six days ago.

The win moved us two positions up to 8. A win tomorrow would mean that we retain the position, as the team in front leads us by 4 points.

We have played three times against the Dynamics, with us winning all three encounters. We have recorded the highest win in the league against them; we put five in their net in a 5-1 win.

This is a team that is not in good form. They have lost their past five matches. Despite conceding 24 goals in the process, they scored a mere 6.

The highest number of goals conceded was 10, in a 10-0 loss against third-place Molapo Masters. That was after they were humiliated 6-1 by Zola United Legends. Hence, the team is rooted at position 20.

We were once at this unfortunate moment at the start of the season. It just took one match against the third-place team at the time to turn our fortunes around, and we went 10 matches unbeaten.

It would be imprudent of us to think of this as a walk-in-the-park match. There is a very thin line between confidence and arrogance, or complacency. We need to tread carefully with the wounded.

Klipspruit Dynamics decided to host us at the famous Nike Football Training Center. The field is famed for hosting the yearly Discovery Walter Sisulu Soccer Challenge tournament.

This will be the first time that we play on this field, which has a rich history of unearthing some of South Africa’s talent.

Fun Fact: The win was recorded in the second half of the season, on July 17. Well, we are in the second half of the season, and it’s July, just a few days after the anniversary of last year’s one.
