Quintuple goals dismantled Dynamics!

We put five goals against Klipspruit Dynamics on an unforgettable day for OBaba Babo, July 23, 2023

It was a much-anticipated day. For the first time, Obaba Babo sets foot at the Nike Football Training Centre, Soweto.

Match-Report

After an exchange of pleasantries, the time for the order of the day came. The team was 64% unchanged from last week’s win against Protea Glen Ext. 4 Masters.

At the back, the team welcomed back our captain, Tshepo Ngwana Bitsoane. Nkosingiphile Mphile Mdlanyoka was another face we hadn’t seen in a while that made his way into the lineup. Both players’ last inclusions in a lineup were losses to Protea Glen Extension 4 Masters and NDT Legends, respectively.

The back five, including Akani Khumalo, continued to do a stellar job. They have conceded two goals in the past two matches. Akani is really marshalling his defence very well. Mandla Poposhie Mlangeni makes their task easy as a Central Defensive Midfielder in the absence of his partner, Mandla Matomane.

The congregation of Mduduzis was witnessed in the middle. The absence of Bongani Sjene Vilakazi and Nathi Nathi-Rocks Ngubeni from last week’s lineup gave way to the invasion. Mduduzi Ta-Mdu Sithebe and Mduduzi DeMdoo Ndlela joined Mduduzi Bra-Mdu Masiba, the latter being a survivor from the last lineup with Poposhie.

With Poposhie as their cover, the three Musketeers did an exceptional job attacking, supplying, and also helping in defence. Apart from the marvellous task done by assisting our strikers with three goals, the most notable action was the two goals they scored.

Upfront Sibusiso Sbugazi Ngema was still our lead man. Joined by our heroic scorer of the winning goal in last week’s match, Siphiwe Shoes Nkosi. It is Shoes’ second start of the season.

We started the match at a very high tempo. Sbugazi broke the deadlock in the 10th minute from the start.

A forced substitution in the 12th minute had to be made for Shoes because he had a knock on his knee. Lindokuhle Zwane, a man having a second stint with the team, came in for Shoes. The last time he donned our jersey was in 2021, in September. We hope that his second coming will bring back the glory days.

Dynamics retaliated immediately with their own dynamite to make it 1-1 going into halftime.

The technical team made two attacking changes to force goals. Jerry Ta-Jerry Buthelezi and Maxwell “Mexican Chillie” Mokgatle came in for DeMdoo and Mdu Sithebe to break the invasion of Mduduzis.

Moments into the start of the second half, Bra-Mdu scored our second goal. His first goal in four appearances this season. Poposhie netted our third in the 56th minute.

Sibugesh completed his brace by converting the fourth chance. Taking his tally to three goals in eight appearances. Raising his hand in the absence of the two Smangas.

Maxwell Mexican Chillie closed the scoreboard for the day with a late goal.

Nathi Nathi-Rocks Ngubeni came in for Poposhie to stabilise the middle even further. His inclusion made sure that their first-half goal remained and nothing more.

On to the 3rd win in a row…..?
