Simanga noSimanga do izimanga for Fathers!

Both Simanga Sgubudu ShabalalaSimanga Dihno Magubane had to wait for the mid-second half to help Obaba secure a victory against the stubborn Tshiawelo Masters Football Club at Tshiawelo on Sunday.

Match – Report

Sgubudu is back to the scoring sheet after he last scored in a 1-1 draw against Thulamela Masters, having scored 4 goals this season. On the other hand, his counterpart Dihno seems to be on a roll as he is nearing the double figures on the scoring sheet, he’s from doing a brace against KA77 the past weekend, and today’s goal sees him reaching 6 goals this season.

The lineup had some changes again this week as it has been the order of the day for the past matches. At the back 4, we saw Bhekinkosi ThandekaThamae Mbazo Matee slot in. While Mbazo paired the middle with Thabo Sthibo Swart, Bhekinkosi was holding the right wing while Bongani Sjene Vilakazi held the left one. The middle of the park had Tumi Chicken NdlovuBongani Njection Maduna guarding the back four. Paul Piriza Shelile and Simanga Dihno Magubane were on the left and right wing respectively. Upfront we had Bonginkosi JD HlopheSimanga Sgubudu Shabalala. The coach made 2 substitutions as he looked to secure what he had, in came Jerry Ta-Jerry Buthelezi for Piriza followed by Sibusiso Ngema for Dihno.

This encounter also sees the team keeping a clean sheet for the first time this league’s calendar year. The last time we had a clean sheet was 350 days ago against Charmers Masters. The way the team is performing currently one has a right to think that it’s just a matter of time before we do it again.

Obaba’s win will see the top of the league being reshuffled once again, as they claim 3 points against Tshiawelo which is in position 2. This comes after another win against another top-of-the-table team 2 weeks ago against Meadowlands Masters. Only time will tell if we will continue with the reshuffle as we face Western Veterans next.
