Light soccer training in preparation for the CWJ Masters visits on July 29, 2023, at Thulani Block 11.
Clear skies with a slight chill were the weather conditions, which were better than what we witnessed in previous weeks. It has never dampened the team’s spirits. The struggle for top-six membership is still ongoing. At 10:30 tomorrow, we will play CWJ Masters at Bonamelo Primary School.
Last week’s victory at a Soweto landmark is now history. The victory kept us in eighth place. We’ve been there for the previous two weeks.
We may take solace in the fact that only six points separate us from the second-place team.
With Zondi Masters leading us by four points, a win tomorrow would lock us in for another week. Anything less would put us in danger of being eclipsed by Zola United, who have a 14-goal difference.
We, the CWJ Masters, have crossed paths three times, with one tie and two split wins amongst us. The last tie was won by us in their background. Every match has been won by a single goal in tight contests.
The previous five matches between the two teams have benefited us somewhat; we have collected 9 points to CWJ Masters’ 8.
They are in 13th place, with 9 points separating us.
We have only a few gnawing wounds. The players in question are (just to name a few)…
- Thamae Mbazo Matee – neck.
- Paul Bricks Lekgetho – fatigue.
- Tshepo Ngwana Bitsoane – ankle.
- Siphiwe Shoes Nkosi – knee.
With our squad’s depth, this shouldn’t be an issue in terms of preparation.
Please come out in force to cheer for your football team.
