Obaba Babo are back in training, preparing for a clash against Protea Glen Ext. 4 Masters, Thulani Block 11, on July 15, 2023.
Skies were covered with clouds in one of the year’s coldest weeks, which saw us have the first snowfall in over a decade. The last time South Africa experienced snow was in 2012, around the same time.
But that didn’t deter the guys’ ambitions to prepare for this huge clash. The numbers were good, considering the fact that the weather was a bit chill.
This is a sign that Obaba really wants to turn the corner. As we find ourselves in this predicament that we faced in the early stages of the league’s first round, we are determined more than ever.
We are playing Protea Glen Masters Ext. 4 Masters at the same pitch that saw us go down 5-1 six days ago. The last time we faced this opposition was in the league’s knockout. They sent us marching out of the tournament by 2 goals to 1.
Football’s idiom would tell you that “You are only as good as your last match”. But if today’s session is anything to go by, I would say our opponents are in for a surprise tomorrow.
